Peter Kürstein
Chairman 

  President, Radiometer Medical ApS 


His marketing career started with Pfizer, Inc., New York, lead on to Shiley, Inc., California and from there to Radiometer A/S, Copenhagen, where he was hired to head the Monitoring Division in 1985.
Peter Kürstein has been in charge of Radiometer's medical business since 1987, except for the period 2001-2004, when he headed the Innovation offspring, which lead to the successful acquisition of Radiometer by Danaher Corp.
MBA from Harvard Business School, 1981.Member of the boards of Foss A/S, H. Lundbeck A/S and Danish-American Business Forum.

Michael Zahrin

   
Director, Group Government Relations, Vestas Wind Systems A/S

Michael Zarin joined Vestas Wind Systems’ Group Government Relations unit in October 2007 as Director and International Policy Advisor. In January 2008, he was appointed as a deputy to the Senior Vice President for Government Relations.

His main areas of responsibility include internal and external communications, including Vestas’ involvement with global industry and business associations. He is also responsible for Vestas’ activities related to climate change as well as supporting commercial and government relations colleagues in the United States, Latin America, and the Mediterranean region.

Prior to re-locating in Denmark, Michael served on the U.S. Department of State’s Policy Planning Staff, advising Secretary of State Colin Powell and other senior officials on Latin America policy matters. During the 1990’s, Michael worked at the International Republican Institute, a non-partisan NGO promoting democracy and civic education worldwide. Prior to that, Michael served on the staff of U.S. Senator David Durenberger, advising the Senator on foreign policy and national security matters.

Annemette has been involved with international sales in Toms Confectionery Group since 1998 and has held the position as International Business Director since 2008. Her responsibility covers Export Sales as well as sales to the Travel Retail industry on a global scale. The US market is an important market for Toms Confectionery Group. For the past 12 years, Annemette has been deeply involved with business development in the US market both on the domestic market as well as in Travel Retail and has travelled extensively in the market. Annemette’s experience with the US market is particularly centered around different go to market approaches within the FMCG industry resulting in a broad broker network.

Sam Jalaei

 

 
Attorney at Law

Sam Jalaei has, since 2000, worked with Danish and international mergers and acquisitions (M&A transactions), including planning and completing due diligence investigations, sales preparations and negotiating and drafting contracts. Sam has in recent years been involved in The Danish Ministry of Transport's sale of the Danish Vehicle Inspection Agency to Applus Danmark A/S (2005), the Proark Group's combined share and asset acquisition of holding companies and golf centers from the Pen-Sam Group (2006) and the combined share and asset acquisition of the Imerco chain stores and the transformation thereof to equity chain (2007). Furthermore, Sam advises on private equity, venture capital, corporate law and capital markets.

Niels Steen Høyer

Joined the foreign service in 1979, and have in the 80's an 90's been posted to London, Bonn and New York. In New York from 1990 - 1994 as head of the trade department at the Consulate General. In the period 1994 – 2001 Head of Department in Ministry of Foreign Affairs focusing on trade and export promotion activities. Member of The Export Promotion Council 1995 - 1998.

Consul General in Los Angeles 2001 -2002, followed by a posting as Consul General in Hamburg 2002 – 2007. Both places with focus on promotion of Danish commercial and cultural interest in the USA and Germany.

Member of the board NOPEF – The Nordic Project Fund. Vice - Chairman of the Appropriation Board.

Robert Steen Kledal


 
Managing Director, Wrist Ship Supply

Robert Kledal is currently Managing Director of Wrist Ship Supply, one of the world’s leading ship supply companies and part of the Wrist Group. Mr. Kledal's previous experience from North America includes managing Maersk's relationship with key customers and suppliers hereunder ports and railroads. Mr. Kledal joined A.P. Møller-Mærsk in 1989 and has been stationed in Hong Kong, China and USA in the period from 1991 to 2007, where he upon his return to Copenhagen assumed responsibility for Maersk Lines Product Management.  Robert Kledal holds an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Staffan Schüberg assumed the role of President of Lundbeck Inc in the US in November 2010. Mr. Schüberg began his career with H. Lundbeck A/S in 1994 and during his long tenure with the company, he has served in a variety of commercial positions and played an integral role in expanding Lundbeck’s global business. A native of Sweden, Mr. Schüberg has worked in a number of international markets. He received his BA from the London Guildhall University, which included a year at Limburg Business School in Belgium. He has relocated to the United States near the Deerfield, Illinois-based Lundbeck Inc. headquarters with his wife, Lidia, and their three children.

Terrence E. Brown is a business strategy columnist, educator, entrepreneur and international subject area expert on creating value. Dr. Brown holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania along with a second MBA in Organizational Management and a Doctorate in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Strategy from Rutgers University. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department of CLUSTER, an international consortium of Europe's leading technical universities and is on the Steering Board of the Roundtable of Entrepreneurship Education's European Branch. Dr. Brown founded Growthstrategies which specializes in helping to grow companies by creating and developing uncommon opportunities. In 1997 he received the National Federation of Business Dissertation Award.

Shawn Waddoups

Shawn Waddoups arrived in Denmark on August 12, 2009. Immediately prior to that, he had been posted as the U.S. Department of State Representative to the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Jalalabad, Afghanistan – approximately 70 km from the Afghan-Pakistan border on the main highway between Kabul and Islamabad. Previous postings include Bucharest, Romania, and Manila, Philippines. Prior to joining the Foreign Service on September 10, 2001, Mr. Waddoups served for seven years in the U.S. Navy. He is originally from Roy, Utah, but now calls Arlington, Virginia, home. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Bachelors Degree in Political Science, both from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Hans Peter is Director of the Danish Energy Industries Federation which is part of the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) and brings together companies engaged in energy extraction, energy generation, manufacturing of energy equipment as well as planning and engineering. Hans Peter has held various management positions within DI’s international department including as director of market policy and director of market development. This position includes the oversight of DI’s US Net which consists of several hundred DI members and organizes US focused activities such as seminars and network meetings (many of which in collaboration with DABF) as well as business promotion activities in the US. Hans Peter cultivates the relations to the US market, including institutional contacts with the US Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers and US Chamber of International Business.

His responsibilities include Corporate Stakeholder Communications, Sustainability Development, Corporate People & Organization, Facilitation and Organizational Audits. Prior to this he spent three years as President of Novozymes' US headquarters in North Carolina. Nagy joined Novozymes, the world leader in bio-innovations and largest manufacturer of enzymes and microorganisms, in 1987 when it was the enzyme division of Danish-based insulin manufacturer Novo Nordisk. Thomas Nagy's previous positions i Novozymes include President of Novozymes North America and Vice President for Production and Global Procurement for Novozymes A/S in Bagsværd, Denmark.

Lars Mikael Jensen


Vice President, Maersk Line

Lars has been with AP Møller Maersk for almost 30 years, most of the time working in Maersk Line and in functions related to the North American market. He has been involved in most North America import and export markets and is today heading up transpacific trade for Maersk Line covering all transportation between Asia and North America. In conducting this function, Lars is, through frequent visits to North America, working closely with the Maersk Line organization in North America and has wide spread contacts to major North America companies for whom Maersk Line is conducting container transportation.
