When Maturity/CMMI becomes a Part of the Vendor Selection And ITAR - U.S. Export Controls on Non-U.S. Transactions
Monday, November 10, 2008, from from 9:00-3:45 pm Host: Brüel & Kjær Danmark Skodsborgvej 307 - 2850 Nærum |
We are pleased to invite you to this seminar focusing on these important issues when dealing with US Government and large corporations:
- The seminar provides extensive and in-depth information intended to inform, enhance and update the knowledge of individuals engaging in, or entering into, defense export activities where the items are controlled under U.S. export control regimes.
Why is e.g., DoD so interested in CMMI®? It is all about quality and business – and continuous improvement. CMMI® is an important tool in this scenario. The seminar will look at developing process maturity as a parameter for selecting suppliers. The quality premise and business objectives will be presented and followed by an introduction to CMMI®.
The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) describes best practices for the development and maintenance of products and services across their entire product lifecycle. Through the integration of essential bodies of knowledge, the CMMI provides a comprehensive framework from which models, training material and appraisal concepts can be generated to support development, acquisition, service and soon manufacturing. |
- For national security and foreign policy reasons, the U.S. Government maintains controls on the transfer of hardware, software, and technology, including technical information and technical services. These rules apply to the retransfer and re-export of commercial items and “dual-use” items that have commercial and military uses.
- U.S. export laws on all U.S. origin items require a license for any retransfer or “re-export” US origin products or non-US items incorporating US content to a third country or a third party. This requirement is in addition to any license for the original export and therefore is a unique feature of US export laws.
