Event 2011 Growth through Innovation Module

Innovation is a strong engine for growth. Interestingly, research shows that the likelihood of success triples when a company innovates through partnerships instead of investing from the ground up.

This workshop targeted both large companies who want to profit from innovation and start-ups with innovative technology ready to commercialize.

 Speakers:

John Bacon, founder and Chairman of IP2Biz LLC
John Bacon has spent his entire career involved with early stage technology, creating early markets for breakthrough technologies. John was an executive for 17 years with Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. He was a software entrepreneur for more than 15 years, running several venture capital-backed companies and taking two of them public, one in the US and one in Europe, after raising close to $40 million from seven venture capital firms.
Anders Quitzau, Innovation Executive, IBM Denmark
You may not believe it: Anders started his professional career as an auditor, but as he openly states “I got out in time!”. After those 9 inspiring years he spent 10 years in management consulting and now almost 13 years in IBM working with business development on the front-edge of IBM's business. Innovation Executive is his 7th role in IBM, where he moves around in the intersection between their many research and development labs and their customers, partners, entrepreneurs and other participants in the vast IBM eco-system.
