Newsletter                                                                                                         March 2011

Dear Friends and Members,

The year is off to a great start and we're happy that we've already seen many of you at our activities.

We'd like to direct your attention to our upcoming Annual Meeting on April 5th hosted by PwC. Building on our motto: Network for success in the US, the theme of this year's meeting is Inspiration for success in the US. The Danish Ambassador to the US, Peter Taksøe-Jensen will kick off the meeting with his views on the opportunities for Danish companies right now. Then, Jan Leschly will share his experience about critical success factors when operating in the US. And finally, we'll hear about the exciting US journey of PANDORA from an insider, Kenneth Ramstrup. Attendance is already over expectations so sign up soon if you would like to join us!

And don't forget to mark your calendars for May 26th. US Ambassador Laurie Fulton has kindly offered to open her official residence for our annual Networking Dinner at Rydhave.

Enjoy the articles in this edition of the newsletter - all things that we hope will contribute to your success in the US.

Thank you,

Einar Dyrhauge, Executive Director

Briefs from the press

NYSE: Deutsch not required

All told, the U.S. subsidiaries of global companies have insourced 5.6 million jobs for Americans. Annually, these companies write $408.5 billion in U.S. paychecks, spend $40.5 billion on U.S. research and development and manufacture close to 20 percent of total U.S. exports. However, the recent announcement of a merger between Germany’s Deutsche Börse and the New York Stock Exchange has met with criticism in Washington. This opinion editorial from the website Politico gives one spin on the issue.
